Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services Inc. is a not-for-profit Victorian incorporated association registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) with a ‘public benevolent institution’ subtype.
The main purpose of Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services is to provide benevolent relief to people in need, including by providing education and training through its registered Independent School, Djerriwarrh Community College.
Djerriwarrh Community College is governed by the School Council formed and overseen by the Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services Board. The School Council is a formally constituted sub-committee of the DCES Board. The purpose of the School Council is to lead the governance of Djerriwarrh Community College, ensuring that the school adheres to all legal obligations. The Council also sets the school’s strategic direction and adheres to the core values of the College.
The Djerriwarrh Community College Governance Charter sets out the responsibilities and code of conduct of the Council. The Council is committed to high standards of corporate governance and implementing policies and procedures, which reflect these high standards.
This Charter has been developed to provide a framework for School Council members acting as responsible persons for the School.
